Basically you are looking at binding some instance of an ArrayCollection to the dataProvider property of your grid, like so:

what datatype is bindable? so that when the results of my search are
returned the datagrid will update.
i'm a newbie practicing my flex by rebuilding my portfolio. so far i
have my xml data, a ComboBox that displays the technologies i have
worked with, a btn that triggers a search of projects based on the
ComboBox.SelectedLabel, and an empty datagrid.
