I ran wireshark back when I had this problem and it does in fact try to talk
to the server.

I believe it messes up the ssl handshake in some fundamental way. Perhaps
the server is expecting a continuation of the previous ssl session and flash
is having that problem with firefox that makes a new session or something.
in any case it returns almost instantly with an error, it does NOT try to
send the file that you said to upload.

I'd have to check again, but I believe it's nothing (and it's an
IOError on the AS side). I'm not familiar with WIreShark, but we used
Charles.
