Good afternoon all.

My company is looking for a way to add closed captioning to our FLV
files, and one piece of software that I ran across is Captionate -
http://www.buraks.com/captionate/index.html .

I'm curious if anyone on this list has ever used this software before,
and more importantly, if they've ever used it in conjunction with a
Flex project. It embeds the CC data directly into the FLV, but most of
the terminology they use in their docs is for Flash and AS2 - neither
of which I'm very familiar with (and I'm still a novice when it comes
to flash video itself.)

My question concerns the parsing of this data: when using the
VideoDisplay component, would they be fired off as cuePoints and
handled as such, or are they dealt with in a different manner? Is
using Captionate feasible in Flex at all?

Barring the use of Captionate, has anyone else ever had to implement
closed-captioning functionality in their Flex app? If so, how'd you go
about it?

Thanks,
