i just hit the proverbial brick wall then. I did notice that the Schedule itself can be tab enabled and i figured tabChildren="true" would do the trick in the component call, which it did not of course because, as you say, all these objects are not UI components. I guess the next step would be either to decide whether to scrap it and start over (OH NO!) or figure out a way to convert each object to a UI component.
