I posted this to the YDN-Flash Group...and I'm probably breaking a double post rule somewhere. I figured the topic might get more of a response here. --- I've downloaded the Yahoo AS3 Libraries to use the map in a Flex application. In Firefox, the onMapLoad event does not get dispatched. Haphazardly, I discovered that by changing the DOCTYPE to one that does not use XML as the priority, everything worked.
I then inserted an XHTML Transitional DOCTYPE in the example files from the AS3 Libraries. I discovered that the same issue was present with the examples - they wouldn't dispatch onMapLoad. Granted, the little square loads and Firebug shows that all the tiles are loading (no 404s or anything). In a test with just the YahooMapService instantiated with a size specified, no onMapLoad listener, and a XHTML DOCTYPE, the full map still did not load...only the little square. I feel like the DOCTYPE is not the real problem. Has anyone else experienced this? And what are your findings and solutions? Am I doing something really stupid that I don't realize (developers are always their own worst enemy)?
