Hi, With the recent release of all the different remoting tools for flex. I would really appreciate those who know could recommend to me what they recommend as the best development setup for doing Flex/DS type development.
I have seen demos of Data services with Flex talking to the Java back end via DS and doing real time update of data etc. This is very impressive, but I am having problems learning the best way to do this. For example, what back end do people recommend. LSDS the free single CPU install, the new Open Source version, a third party version? Why use PHP type (Ie amfphp) when you can now get these solutions? If java application server, tomcat? jboss? jrun? etc???? and Why? I am not a java programmer, but it seems the way to go. How does this integrate into the development IDE? Best practices? What tools should I need over Flex Builder? Do I need to load other tools into Eclipse? How do you generate all this code to implement the database. I looked at some example code, and it was quite involved just to get some stuff going. Is ther tools to help here? where do I look? Any advice GREATLY appreciated. James
