could the fms serverside actionscript method Stream.record() be used to generate new flv? http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/flashmediaserver/3.0/hpdocs/ 00000396.html#116659

I'm under the impression that Stream.record is for server-side usage to combine/merge separate streams of data or for recording from a camera or other input source.

Also, stream.record takes a long long time. Merging two sources for example, takes at minimum as long as the two original resources are in duration (ie, doesn't work from in/out points on separate streams). That's not from personal experience though, just from what I've read about it.

Of course, i might be completely wrong about this. I haven't checked out the new FMS Interactive edition yet, so there may be other options available now.

cheers,

jon
