Deeplinking doesn't work very well in file:///. Did you deploy to a server?

Everything works fine in Firefox, but in IE7, it won't go back through the history at all. If I pull down the history button, it shows the previous pages as "The page cannot be found". I can't find any documentation saying that deep-linking doesn't work for Internet Explorer; in fact the doc on Adobe Labs says it does work. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong? Thanks
