There was an open source project to allow Flex to use th socket classes to access a server-based database. I'm sure google will find it for you.
However, it is much more common to access an application server ( ColdFusion, Java, .NET, PHP, etc.. ) using web protocols (RemoteObject, HTTPService, WebService), then have the app server hit the database and return data to the Flash Player. I expect there is a reason why this is more common. candysmate wrote: > > > As the subject says boy and girls. :) > > -- Jeffry Houser Flex, ColdFusion, AIR AIM: Reboog711 | Phone: 1-203-379-0773 -- Adobe Community Expert <http://www.adobe.com/communities/experts/members/JeffryHouser.html> My Company: <http://www.dot-com-it.com> My Podcast: <http://www.theflexshow.com> My Blog: <http://www.jeffryhouser.com>
