Yes, I have the same problem.  I've worked on an upload feature for an
application that is supposed to show progress to the user while the file is
uploading.  However, I can only test this on Windows or a Mac.  On Linux,
the UI freezes until the upload is complete.

If I remember correctly, an earlier version of the Flash Player for Linux
behaved correctly in this regard (maybe, 9.0.28?), but the last two releases
(I'm using 9.0.115 now) have exhibited this behavior.

I don't know of any workaround.
