Strictly speaking, no. It's perfectly valid to have a switch fall
through. That's a rather controversial aspect of the switch statement,
since it's definitely a little unfriendly. (In fact, if I'm not
mistaken, some flavor of VisualBasic actually changes the default
behavior to break, requiring an explicit keyword to fall through to the
next case). It would be nice to at least get a warning from the
compiler, though, since you falling through accidentally is probably
more common than falling through on purpose...

in fact it was a missing break in a switch statement. After adding the 
missing break; it started working again. Shouldn't the compiler check 
for the missing break ?
