I think the best way to learn is to have some reference book that you either read or reference when needed.
Then have a real project in mind, and try to write it, when you get stuck ask questions, refer to your book, search google, use this list etc, you will make a lot of mistakes, but you will learn a lot also. Once you get to the end of this project, you will feel confidant that you can take this to more complex projects.
