LCDS/BlazeDS is a server and a client product. On the server, it requires a J2EE server but on the client, it's simply a few swcs (rpc.swc in BlazeDS) and your AIR app would use this rpc.swc to talk to the LCDS server. So the fact that the LCDS server piece runs on a J2EE server is irrelevant to the AIR client application.
