You are best off just creating your own skin.
You can't achieve that with the TitleBackground skin class.

headerColor="{null}" ... I think you can do that... ?
Try nulling out the headerColors and setting the borderAlpha to 0 again.

Your best bet is to make a new skin using the TitleBarBackground skin as a template and make it do what you want.
I didn't look to close as to what the flag showChrome was doing.
