This is up in the air, I can't see your code, are you making the right optimizations? do you have things looping right? Read my post back on this.

I made a documenter that can parse, analyze and render the whole flex framework source... The player is not slow if you play with it right.

I don't think I said it would but, just that there are things that the flash player can do that can work around current barriers.
