I am posting this as a follow-up to our earlier discussion on component packaging. The Flex Engineering team shipped a new Auto-Complete Text Field component and zip packaging looks to be a great example for other developers to follow when packaging components. This example includes source, swc, documentation, samples and instructions in a well organized ZIP file.

ZIP Download:

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?extid=1047291&view=sn610

The ZIP Archive is organized as follows:

/bin – Folder containing SWC

/docs – Folder containing ASDoc output

/samples – Folder containing several examples of use for the component

/src – Folder containing source path

buildSamples.bat – bat file for building examples mxml files

buildSWC.bat – bat file for building SWC

component_license.htm – EULA

manifest.xml – Manifest file for SWC creation

readme.txt – Simple Readme file

Kudos to Flex Engineering listening in on FlexComponents! J

Cheers,
