Stefan From: flexcomponents@ yahoogroups. com [mailto:flexcompone [EMAIL PROTECTED] com] On Behalf Of Michael Schmalle Sent: 13 December 2006 12:43 To: flexcomponents@ yahoogroups. com Subject: Re: [flexcomponents] Re: Kickoff - Adobe Flex Component Development Group This talk has come up before and it has been agreed anyone that wants to post free OR commercial components are welcome to. That goes for urls, announcements etc. The fact is, a lot of you are application developers that make money from building applications. Another fact is, there are real component developers out there myself included that put 1000's of hours into component frameworks and professional grade components. These things cannot be given away for free, it is our livelihood. Once Flex hits the mainstream, this won't even be a debate anymore. It will boil down to this; Are you an application developer ? Are you a component developer ? These questions will mark the gendre of Flex you work in to pay the bills we all have. I wish grocery stores shared the same community attitude when it comes to bare bones survival needs but, they don't and all things of value should be given a worth. Professional flex components are worth something because they save the application developer mass amounts of time and also a residual income that the component developer does not see. I sincerely commend it. One question . Will there be a database to host those components, as flex is not an open source, some some people will want to earn some cent for their hard work. Let me know in due cause if it is possible because I will want to have a mirror site for it. --- In flexcomponents@ yahoogroups. com, "adobeted" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Welcome to the Adobe Flex Component Development Group! > > This group was created to foster a community around Flex component > development.
