I don't think there will be a way to get a Flash 8 SWF to load a Flash 9 Flex SWF. I would recommend trying to rewrite the accordion portion in Flex 2. You can then load all your old SWFs into the Flex 2 accordion by following the link James posted. It'll be a pain, but is generally doable.
