if you want to trigger the comment box right before the user can even start editing, listen for the itemeditbegin event. then in the handler, call preventDefault() to prevent flex from immediately allowing the user to edit the cell. this is the time to pop out your comment box, then after the comment box is dismissed ( or whatever criteria you want to be followed), call createItemEditor() to finally allow the editing.
