The answer came back from the FlexBuilder folks that it is unfortunately hard-coded for certain properties of certain components. I've filed an Engineering Change Request that it be driven by metadata so that developers can get the same treatment for their components. - Gordon

I wasn't aware of that. I'll try to find out what makes it happen. - Gordon ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of dorkie dork from dorktown Sent: Saturday, March 24, 2007 10:44 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [flexcomponents]Adding CDATA tags around in my htmlText property sorry, let me clarify. the Textarea htmlText property automatically adds the CDATA section in the MXML source view editor. so if you go into the source view and type: <mx:TextArea> <mx:htmlText> [ENTER] then flex builder adds: <![CDATA[ ]]> </mx:htmlText> I didn't have to type the CDATA section. Can I do that with my component?
