The book has to be on the display list in order to be updated by the
LayoutManager. If you make it invisible or move it off-screen it should
still get updated, and an updateComplete will be dispatched when it is
done. Sometimes there'll be more than one updateComplete if some child
changes its mind about its size and appearance.

Subject: [flexcomponents] How do I know when my component has drawn
everything in updateDisplayList?

I'm back...

So same app. Here are the steps that I currently use when updating
the data on my flex book:
1) Move the book left out of the screen
2) call a WS to get the new data
3) move the book back into the screen

Steps 2 and 3 get called at the same time and there is a bit of a skip
while the book is updated.

My problem is I dont know how to raise an event when a component has
finished drawing/updating its self. I would like to update the book
while it is off the screen, then move it in after everything is drawn.
Do I add an eventHandler? Is there already some built in event that
gets raised?

Thanks in advance!

-Nate
