Conditional filling of chart items would be supported in the upcoming
version of Flex beta. If you are on Flex 2.0.1, you would have to create
a custom item renderer that applies a different fill color based on the
value of the chart item. The fill can be a gradient fill in this case.

Subject: [flexcomponents] chart question: coloured bars

I doubt whether this is possible but I gotta check before moving to a
work-around**

I've got a bar chart where the bars range from -5 to 0 to +5. I'm
wanting to have the bars blend in colour. (NOTE: this is not a range,
all values start at 0 and go +'ve or -'ve).

I'm wanting to colour the bars so they start orange and the more -'ve
the more red the ends of the bars get. if +'ve, the more green they
gradually blend from the orange at zero (I hope that makes sence)

the only saving grace is I know for certain that min/max are -5/+5
+5: green end
+3: green/orange
0 : orange
-3: orange/red
-5: red end

is this possible? if so, how should I approach it?

thanx

** the bars stay standard yellow/orange and just apply a red-to-green
gradient background. An image would do...
