It should support everything other than row spanning. (client comment column in http://www.evangifford.com/treeGrid/TextAreaEditor.jpg has a text area that spans multiple rows)

When we release the Flex 3 beta in a little bit there will be a new grid that has some of this functionality, we'll be adding more support even after that. What kind of operations are you hoping to do? What would the size of your data set be, how many dimensions, etc?
