The admins might want to consider enabling the "New Members" Moderation setting in Group Settings -> Posting Options. This prevents spam from going out, and only requires slightly more effort from Admins. I did this on my other groups and virtually eliminated spam.
Once a member has posted a few times successfully they are no longer moderated. Just a thought.
