I have a custom videodisplay component that I'm messing around with. I load
multiple flv's
into as a result of user interactions. I attached a volume control to it, but
everytime I load a
new flv, the volume resets to its default. If I wait until the video starts
playing and I use the
volume control to set the volume again, it instantly takes up the new volume.
Interestingly
enough, even if I add an event listener to the playhead update event and let it
reset the sound
4 times a second throughout the entire video the sound still starts at 100% on
the next load
after muting the volume on a previous load, it stays at 100% until I do
something on my
volume control (which uses the exact same code as the function called by the
playhead
update event listener). The volume property is never reset (as best as I can
see through
watching it during debug), even in the VideoPlayer subclass of the VideoDisplay
component.
Maybe the soundtransform gets reset? Either way, if I mute the volume on one
video, then
load another it starts at full volume, and whats even wierder is that I can't
seem to get the
new video to take on the new volume through code (I've tried a variety of
things, like
resetting volume when I get the ready event and the other method above of
resetting the
volume constantly throughout the video, but only when I press the volume key up
slightly (to
go from 0 to .1), does it instantly go from 75% or whatever to nearly muted.

Anyone experienced this before, and is there anything I can do to change this
behavior?
