var b:Bitmap = new Bitmap();
var a:Label = new Label();
a.height=100;
a.width=100;
var d:BitmapData = new BitmapData(a.width,a.height,false);
d.draw(a);
b = new Bitmap(d);
rawChildren.addChild(b); //dont use the rawChildren though

Are you setting transparent to true when you create the BitmapData? I would

Thank you for the BitmapData.draw( ) tip. But now I have another
problem with it. When I make the Bitmap, the background is white. So
it is black text with a big white box around it. It should be showing
through blue. Is there a way to make the white background of the
Bitmap transparent?
