Further, determine what is your bottleneck.  Comment out the data
loading part to see how fast the swf appears.  If fast, maybe use
callLater to delay the data load until the UI appears.  This will only
be percieved improvement, but with humans, perception is important.

Use modules to reduce the size of the SWF.  Only load what you need for
the first screen in the main swf.

Hello, 

While loading the web page looks blank for 4-5 seconds while loading a
SWF file ( ...size 1.6 MB).
It reads the data from standalone file ( .XLS).

Please suggest me what are the points I could consider to improve the
performance.
