Folks

I had two situations that caused BSOD's 1) is as Tim described, was very repeatable and was fixed in Firewire Driver 3.5.0.7171 . 2) After updating to 3.5.0.7171 I will occasionally (every couple of days) get a BSOD if PowerSDR and a Digital Program using VAC have been running for 5+ hours. Based on the crash dump, this problem is occurring in the Windows firewire driver 1394ohci.sys. I get this problem when running PB-PAL latest SVN, Firmware 2.0.0.4 and firewire driver 3.5.0.7171 on Win 7 pro 64 bit .

If you can get me a mini crash dump file, I can at least tell you if you're crash is similar to mine.

Unless we have a crash dump, there is no way we can tell what the problem is.
David supplied several crash dumps and the driver developer did indicate that
the bug in those dumps where addressed in the latest FLEX Firewire driver
(3.5.0.7171).

Also, David's situation was unique in that it only crash dumped when VAC was
running in conjunction with the FLEX-x000. When the FLEX-x000 was running
alone, no crashes happened.

Would be nice if you Tim see this.

For BSOD problem here, I have been told, that Tim was involved in discussion
about
chrashes at David's -WD0DHB system.

Here it is, what I have been told:

<quoute>
Unfortunately, I don't remember the version of the driver that was
running for crashes that I analyzed (with 18.1.3 and Win7 64-bit). But
Tim from Flex (W4TME) was involved and the crashes were occurring on
David's (W0DHB) system. This was back at the beginning of November.
Tim said, at that time, that the OEM who supplies the drivers to Flex
was aware of the problem and had fixed it. I *assume* a new driver has
been released since that time. (Personally, I'm still running the old
legacy SDR-1000, so I don't tend to follow the firewire driver versions
very closely).

Is there a new driver, and can it be downloaded somwhere ?
