All,

Yes, I have observed the same problem since SVN 3524 when on CW. With
break-in box NOT enabled, if I touch the paddle, the 5000 goes into TX mode
with no RF output and does not return to RX mode until I close the PTT line.

The ALC is applied in the DSP _after_ the VAC input. Does that answer your
question?

I downloaded the new firmware file from the Flex site - I was confused as to
why it is a stand-alone program and doesn't use the new "install via the
FlexRadio Driver" method.

Anyway - it pops up a little cmd window and goes along, clicks my Flex 3K
relay when it is done - all seems OK.

But, when I try to run PSDE (1.19.3 svn 3524) it hangs a few seconds into
initialization.

My Flex driver is version 3.5.0.71.71, PAL version is same.

I am running this under W7x64 - I am running the firmware install as
administrator - all the right stuff as far as I can tell.

I can use the Flex Driver to reload 2.0.0.4 and all works fine - that was a
big relief!

Anyone else seen this behavior? Any suggestions?

Best regards,

Michael Jones W0STB

Hi Tim,

I just went to the Flex page->Support->Downloads - it's the first thing
listed.
I guess I used the wrong name referring to it - its version 1.2.5.6 - I got
confused.
I thought that since it says it needs drive v3.5.0.7171 that is was more
current than the 2.0.0.4 one with a similar name two slots down.
It's not at all clear to me what the differences are or which one to use.

Chris,

Personally I disagree, if we all know that the transmit default is 50
watts , just have to make sure to have that set before you TX.. Also
there is already a default setting you can change, just go into the SSB
TX profiles after you have already set the power setting and click
Save. By default there is only two. And once you set the Drive
setting in a mode (like CW) the power setting is the same when you
restart PowerSDR. Tune is already defaulted to 10 watts.

Will someone please test to see if I've found a bug in the latest PB-PAL SVN
before I submit a bug report?

While in SSB (either USB or LSB) press your paddle/key that is plugged
directly into the back of the Flex. No CWX or com port keying please. Does
your audio quit? My Flex 5000A goes completely quiet. Only the audio dies.
The only way to restore the audio is to completely exit PowerSDR and
restart. Win XP SP3, all patches.

This just started today with the latest SVN. You may ask why someone would
press their paddle when in SSB. When I'm in a long net I often practice my
CW using the sidetone on my K1EL keyer.

Sounds like a bug that needs to be logged in the Bug Tracker.

I assume you are using a FLEX-x000 SDR.

Download and install the v3.5.0.7171 Firewire driver
Download and install firmware 2.0.0.4
Install .NET 3.5 SP 1
Checkout the PB-PAL release folder from SVN

Is a level and image calibration required after the firmware upgrade?

Not that I know of.

You might want to do an RX image calibration because that is needed for WBIR
to have initial starting points.
