When reporting problems with the beta v3.5.2.8026 Firewire driver,
please using the following protocol so that we can collect the proper
information the first time.
1.) Please send all reports to me using the [email protected] e-mail
address.
2.) In the e-mail subject, please indicate what you are reporting and
from who it is. Example: "BSoD w/ v3.5.2.8028 - Tim (W4TME)"
3.) In your problem description please include the following information:
- A description of the problem in as much detail as possible. THIS IS
VERY IMPORTANT. Please be verbose.
- What you were doing when the problem occurred and if the problem is
reproducible.
-If the problem is reproducible, a detailed explanation of how you can
reproduce the problem.
- What other programs are running at the same time you experience the
problem. Does not running these programs make any difference.
- What operating system you are using (including if it is 64 or 32-bit).
- The output from the Firewire host controller chipset applet
http://kc.flex-radio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50456.aspx
- The name of the Windows Firewire driver you are using as displayed in
Device Manager. If Vista or Win7, the options will be a chipset
specific driver, a generic driver or the "legacy" driver.
- If a BSoD occurs, we will need a copy of the crash dump file.
Also, the diagnostic logging tool Gerald referred to is only available
for the 64-bit versions of Vista and Win7 operating systems.
