There is a complete rewrite of the diversity/phased array code checked
in to ke5dto/pb-pal. It is not yet functional (there is an array out of
bounds problem) but it will eliminate the thread block/thrashing from
before because the combining is done early rather than late and there is
no need for the mechanism used before.
The rewrite is complex and not debugged. I will inform you when I
believe it is functional.
