Ignacio,

Thanks for the idea of checking the database - I was able to fix the
problem by renaming the existing files in the previously created folder
for 1.19.3 in this case:

C:\Documents and Settings\pjthompson\Application Data\FlexRadio
Systems\PowerSDR v1.19.3

The files I renamed were:

wisdom, database.xml, power.csv

After doing so, PowerSDR 2.0 beta now runs ok. The renamed files were
recreated on startup. I did not need to uninstall/reinstall the beta,
just launched PowerSDR.exe and it went through the wisdom step and
recreated the various files including the database.

I'm guessing the database was the problem since it was pre-existing and
had been used with 1.19.3 with HPSDR so may have had some incompatible
settings established. I've yet to try my 1.19.3 instance to see if it
still works. I'm guessing I'll need a way to tell one instance where to
put the database so I can have two separate instances: I did not see a
way to do this but you hinted at some technique (of course this is based
on the assumption that what I've surmised above is correct!).

Since I installed the v2.0.0 and runs ok on my SDR-1000 at the first
try (there is a remaining small bug, but it was there before and it
was reported when it appeared), and I have installed simultaneously
several versions including some from PB-PAL svn, I think that the
difference may be in the OS (I use XP 32) or the database. Even I'm
using a copy of my previous PB-PAL database without problems (I'm a
very frequent database hacker). While I'm not an expert at debugging,
it smells like something related to the database. Did you tried a DB
reset? I say that because the v2.0.0 beta shares the database folder
with v 1.19.3 (in fact also the database itself UNLESS you had created
a new folder for it and inform the program at loading time to use the
new location).

Mark,

I've marked this for us to look at -- if you can think of anything
"different" in your installation, it would be helpful.

Thanks,
Steve
