I've read and re-read Tim's post (link below) about recommended CW settings but I am having to use very different (and higher values) than in both the recommendation and that I used to use pre PSDR 2.0.
http://mail.flex-radio.biz/pipermail/flexedge_flex-radio.biz/2010-May/00 3853.html Here's my configuration: PSDR2.0 Beta, Flex 5000A Vista X64 on Quad Core 2.7 GHz Buffer Size (Audio/Primary) 1024 Sample Rate 96 KHz DSP/Options CW Buffer size RX/TX both 2048 Here are some examples... With break-in DISABLED, PTT Delay set to 50 ms in all cases - using the CWX memory keyer in PSDR to send CW... 15wpm, Drop Delay 250mS to get CW sent without lost symbols - for example, sending my call K6TU with less drop delay sends variants on KBEA that get closer to K6TU as you increase the Drop Delay. 22wpm, needs drop delay of 175 ms to send without lost symbols With break-in ENABLED, PTT delay 50ms, drop delay 75 mS, again using CWX keyer The break in delay in ms has to be set to the same values (175 ms for 22wpm) to get clean characters. The same issue occurs when using a program like Writelog to send CW is QSK mode - this is the root cause of the problem I was having late last night - EXCEPT that the break in delay has to be set a little higher - for example at 22wpm using WL, I need a break in delay of 200 ms to get clean characters. With PowerSDR 1.18.x, I used to have PTT delay set to 50ms and drop delay to 75 ms when sending at 20 wpm with the CWX keyer so these numbers are considerably different! I haven't been able to try a paddle or real key physically plugged into the 5K - I have a fully remote station hence why I always use the CWX keyer or an external program via a Virtual Serial port pair. Is anyone else having similar experiences? Should I file a bug report on this? Let me know if more information/details are required. This is easy to repeat and I've tried shutting PSDR down, then restarting... I haven't yet tried a full power cycle on the hardware.
