Mike, Admittedly I am jumping into the middle of this thread and have not caught the rationale for running in emulation mode (I can make a guess or 2!), but IMO you'll have even better performance if you run BootCamp/XP or BootCamp/Win7. I've done so with my Flex-3000, finally burying the Mini when I decided to run the DXLabs suite also. If you get to that point, talk with Neal about a PC that can do the job. Although I love my Macs, there did come a point where I had to find a better platform for what I wanted to do.
If you don't get carried away with more software that needs to run under Windows, the Mini will stand you in good stead. Enjoy! 73 --- Ted WA3AER Message: 1 Date: Mon, 19 Jul 2010 21:49:17 -0500 From: Mike Schwendeman <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: [FlexEdge] Re- Flex-1500 and Mac Mini Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed This is an update on my quest to allow PowerSDR to operate my Flex-1500 in EMULATION mode on my Mac Mini. At Neal's suggestion, I downloaded and ran an application that would show me the status of the USB bus; This application is called USBView. I downloaded and ran this application in my VMWare Fusion installation of Windows XP. ...[message truncated intentionally] _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
