[Tim] The FLEX-1500 currently uses Windows or the ASIO4ALL audio driver in the interim until the native FLEX-1500 streaming mode USB driver is available, so the anomalies you are reporting are known issues and being addressed.
I suspected that was the case. I've tried to keep up with the discussions here and in the forums since I placed my order but of course some things don't make complete sense until you are experiencing them first hand.
[Tim] When you run Fldigi, you may start to push the Pentium-IV CPU towards the upper end of its usable limits. Just watch out for it.
A new shack PC is in my future. The current one has been kicking around for a while. If need be I have a dual-core laptop I can press into service but that isn't as convenient so hopefully the P4 can get by for a month or two.
[Tim] Isn't it fun? I am using my FLEX-1500 on digi modes only and I am starting to like the QRP challenge.
I kind of "backed in" to both QRP and CW a few years ago. I was originally intrigued with all of the interesting small QRP transceiver kits. I built a few and ultimately decided I needed to re-learn CW so I could actually use them. It's been a lot of fun even with few sunspots to help out. The digital modes are simply amazing with what they can accomplish with 5W.
Thank you for the help and pointers. 73, Tim N9PUZ _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
