It appears that only pins 4, 5, and 6 are connected thru the adapter
to the radio, mic-, mic+, and ptt. Both the 3000 and 1500 manuals
say that ptt should use pins 6 and 7, not 6 and 4.
Perhaps the 1500 is ok with this and the 3000 is not. The hand mike
works fine on both radios. Also, pins 1, 2, and 8 are not connected
on the 1500 so the up/down stuff does not function.
Visual inspection shows good pins.

Richard,
The 1500/3000 are both wired the same. Look very closely at the
internal pins or "fingers" of the 3000 to make sure they are ok..

I'm trying to get my Heil Proset working on my flex-3000 and
flex-1500. It came from FlexRadio with a Heil adapter, AD-1-YM. I
also have a Yaesu MH-31 hand mic.
The hand mike works fine on both the 3000 and 1500 (the up down
buttons are not available on the 1500, unfortunately). The proset
with adapter works on the 1500 but not on the 3000.

Does anyone understand all this and have any suggestions? I seem to
remember some problems mentioned here a while back but can't find
them.
Varying the mic gain does not do anything on the Heil (meter sits at
-30 dB) but works as advertised with the hand mike.
