Subject: [FlexEdge] adding flex3000

Tim,

I have my 1500 up and running with 2.0.16 on xp sp3. Works great!
[Tim] Excellent

I installed it for 1500 only to keep it simple.
[Tim] OK.

Do I need to reinstall to have both 3000 and 1500 or can I add the
3000 with no reinstall?
[Tim] I think you will need to re-run the installer and select the modify
option, as I have never testing a condition like this. Here is why. With the
installation of the FLEX-x000 you conditionally will get the Firewire driver,
if that versions is not already installed. You also get the aut.dll that adds
the enhanced performance for the FLEX-3000 ATU. If the modify does not work,
then I recommend that you run the installer and select the Remove option to
uninstall PowerSDR v2.0.16 and then run the installer again, selecting the
FLEX-1500 and the FLEX-5000/3000 as the radios. If you do this, it should
*not* uninstall the Firewire or USB drivers.

If I had installed for both would they both need to have been present at
install time?
[Tim] No. Matter of fact, you need to make sure all radios are powered off at
the time of installation, so the installer doesn't actually know what radios
you do or do not have attached. As a matter of practice, I install for all
radios (the default) whether or not I plan to use those radio types on the PC I
am installing the software on.

Thanks,
