Last year I did some work on debugging the 1394 interface with the Flex
5000A. It was working and was from what testing I did fairly stable.
Fairly stable means it did not do anything it should not have after I
found a couple of minor tweaks. I did not test it thoroughly and have
since reloaded that machine to try the later versions of Ubuntu.
That said, I did not have enough information on the Flex / Firewire
interface software on the other end to be able to do much else. Bob,
Frank and I am sure others have been deep into that project.

Apologies for being a bit behind on email and being a bit late to
comment. I ended up having to reload a mail server this past week.
