I don't know all the "why's and where for's" but I have been running DM780 with Mini Deluxe for quite a while now.

In your write up I don't see the mention of DDutil software. The way I have my system setup is that PowerSDR communicates thru the DDutil software to "everything" else. In this case DDutil is used to communicate to Mini Deluxe which in turn communicates to DM780. This virtually takes all the delay out of the system that you may see when using HRD. In my case if there is any delay, well I don't notice it.

So in my case I have the following virtual com ports set up:
Com 4,5 Used for PowerSDR
Com 6,7 Used for PowerSDR PTT to DM780
Com 14,15 Mini Deluxe link to DM780

In this way all CAT commands from PowerSDR go thru DDutil and are echoed to other devices and software. You may want to look at the Yahoo Groups for HRD and DDutil. A lot of good information there.

First off - Congrats to all @ Flex for all your hard work in getting us to .19. Thanks a lot.

Next, I have been trying to get DM780 to receive the CAT commands from my 5000a/2.0.19 RC1. To recap, using HRD, the latency was quite long, and also was having trouble getting RF out when keyed up.

By downloading .19, everything with HRD seems to have been improved, but with a small amount of latency. I can at least get on running HRD/DM780. After a few contacts, things seem to be close to normal.

It was recommended that I switch to Fldigi to see if all settings are correct. Fldigi works as advertised,
so I guess this means VAC and other settings are configured correctly.

It was also suggested I run Mini-Deluxe instead of HRD. After opening MD, it will not accept the comm port 1 that I use for HRD, and my logging program. (I disabled them before starting Mini-Deluxe)I use comm # 11 (cat) on the Flex side. When I put in that port, and save, the config screen goes away, but if I go back to it, no comm port is listed. In the tray, the icon says mini is running, but there is no connection, and of course, DM780 does not see the radio. Also, when I start up Mini, I get the warning "The Publisher could not be verified." etc, etc. Is this normal? Now, to complicate matters more, if I leave MD running and try to use the comm port 1 elsewhere,I get a message already in use. So possibly it is running in the background and not showing up in the config box?

What I am trying to say, I want to run DM780 with Mini-Deluxe. But there seems to be a problem with MD connecting with the CAT command.

Whew !
