Quote: "Now, we have a release which seems to fix the issue according to a
surprisingly few positive reports (no offense to the 10 or 15 people who
have already posted positive reports on the installation and operation of
2.19 RC1)."

What I DON'T want to see are the usual quickdraw, "I installed 2.0.19 and
the radio's perfect" reports that show up within hours of any release. In my
case I used the new software to make 200 30-wpm contacts in the ARRL CW test
that started hours after the release. I intentionally made at least ten Qs
on each band, and ran some tests on six meters. (did ANYONE else try six
CW?)

I played with nearly every setting Flex offers. I looked for new bugs. I
hooked up a dummy load when I thought I spotted an RF-caused problem. I
tried several new databases and ultimately deleted all old Flex software and
did a really clean install of 2.0.19, and without an antenna attached. Three
days of playing with 2.0.19!

My 5000 **SEEMS** to be working well except perhaps on six meters where the
keying is a bit "thumpy." But I'm still not ready to publish my final
opinion.
