It is the way PowerSDR works by default. When you assert PTT manually and VAC
is enabled in a DIGx mode, it by passes the VAC channel so you can use the
microphone. Look for the setting in the VAC setup "Allow PTT to
override/bypass VAC for Phone"

Subject: [FlexEdge] Peculiar behavior with VAC ?

I'm not sure if this is a defect or just a characteristic behavior that I don't
understand (or the symptom of a mistake that I made).
Although I've been using the 5000A for several months (PSDR v2.0.22), I've just
been using VAC and WinWarbler for a few days. Hopefully some of you who are
more experienced can give an opinion.

I downloaded a new copy of VAC, and set up PSDR, WinWarbler, and VAC according
to instructions in the knowledge base.

I set up the various components to run AFSK RTTY, with PSDR set to DIGL.

I normally activate PTT by using a footswitch connected to the PTT jack on the
back of the 5000A. It was my intent to start using WW by using the footswitch
to assert PTT, and then hit the Start Button in WW. Doing so caused the MOX
button to light, and the 5000A appeared to be ready to transmit, but there was
no RF output when I hit the WW Start Button (even though WW was generating
audio).

However, if I configure WW to automatically execute PTT, I get proper RTTY RF
output when I press the WW Start Button (unless I press the PTT footswitch
first, which then inhibits normal operation).

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Dan - W4TQ
