This isn't unusual at all. It has to do with disk I/O (and or graphics
activity) that's happening as a result of you starting the new application.
I don't see any problem in your LatMon output, and 175us should be fine for
PSDR.
If you want to be starting arbitrary applications while running PowerSDR, I can
suggest:
a) Defragging your disks
b) Getting faster disks if they are already defragmented, perhaps SSDs
c) Ensuring network I/O isn't the culprit when you're starting these
applications
d) Upgrading your graphics card if starting the apps results in lots of screen drawing (I
mean, are you cranking up "Dragon Age" or something?).
e) Getting more memory... it's cheap, and it's the best thing you can do in
terms of speeding up almost any PC.

Ok Peter.
ad a) I did and do it often, the defragging my disks.
ad b) This could maybe be good.
ad c) I will try to switch off the Network I/O and see what's happening.
ad d) this is one of the culprits. I have BSOD's from time to time, when
I run a USB DVB-T device. I have to change the graphic card.
I run an ASUS P5Q De Luxe. What graphic card would you
recommend ?.
ad e) I use 4G, and as I run w7u 32 bit it only can use 3.25GB with ref.
