If Thomas Edison had announced his invention of the light bulb a few years earlier, there could have been infrastructure installed, pre-wiring, and even a consumer market for his remarkable product when it finally came about in 1879.
Sometimes getting new things means we have to take them as (and when) they come. Personally, I like being part of something that's developing. I look forward to telling my grandchildren how primitive PowerSDR 2.2.3 was with only a single panadaptor, limited filters, etc., compared to what you kids have now. The radio I own does everything I was told it would do when I bought it. I was told that in the future it would do more. In the year and few months since I owned it, it has. That's part of what keeps it interesting for me. I have seen significant improvements coming at me as recently as this week. And it didn't cost me a single dime. I get a real thrill when I spend an entire day screwing around with DDUtil and VSPMgr and finally get my logging program to record the radio data. Oh, I guess it could have been made easy with full integration so that all I had to do was check a single box to get everything working. That wouldn't be much fun though. As for the company, I don't think I have seen any company as open and honest with its plans as Flex Radio Systems has been. I have never seen a company answer e-mails about feature requests, support issues, or whatever the communication is withing a couple of hours - even on weekends. If something were to happen to my radio today, I would replace it with another Flex tomorrow. I am far from being disappointed. I am excited and encouraged. -- Steve Miller w6sdm.net _______________________________________________ Flexedge mailing list [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexedge_flex-radio.biz This is the FlexRadio Systems e-mail Reflector called FlexEdge.
