I've had a THP 2.5K for over a year and use it daily with my Flex 5K. After a month of use, the finals died. I sent it back to Array Solutions and they fixed it under warranty. They said that THP had put out a notice that they had gotten a bad bunch of FETs. The numbering on my FETs agreed with the numbers in the bulletin. After the replacement, I've been running it daily with no problems.
I guess that ignorance is bliss because I had never heard that the Flex had a problem with spikes. Wonder if that problem has been fixed?
