Robert, In the Flex radios, the box converts the incoming RF to a baseband extending from the IF frequency (default = 9 kHz) up to a maximum value determined by the sampling rate. ALL processing is done by PowerSDR within this baseband.
Therefore, the TNF is accomplished at AF, but not at the traditional AF you are thinking of. You could actually consider the baseband to be an extremely low radio frequency IF. From this perspective, the TNF is accomplished in the "RF" domain.
