A few minutes ago my XYL and I were discussing the "expectations" of the new radio model purchasers and I commented that I feared that those folks were expecting too much and would probably be disappointed. She simply said that "they haven't lived as long as you have and don't have sufficient experience yet."

My memory is starting to fade but I do remember sending $2,500, cash money, down to Austin while betting on the come! The promised delivery date was about three months off, as I recall, and the UPS package car driver actually delivered this box close to seven months later! Was I upset? No. You see I have been in the position of having to produce a new product and having unexpected problems pop up over which I had no control. And given the complexity of what is being described here I'm going to come right out and say that it would be unreasonable to expect a firm result from an estimated delivery date. Of course, surprises can happen but even if the hardware arrives on schedule I would hope that no one would get too excited if all software features don't arrive until much later.

I'm thinking about the purchase of the third Flex radio and I will enthusiastically say that they do, indeed, produce excitement.

For K2CM: Shipping dates have not been set yet, I understand. Got a note the other day suggesting we won't see them for ARRL CW Sweepstakes, at least.

Computer requirements should be pretty modest. A net book will probably work. Anything you're using for PowerSDR will likely be fine.

Eagerly anticipating!
