I can vouch also for the Balun Designs products.
I emailed him, told him what was happening and he sent me
1 balun for my yagis and one for my 160 L
Top Quality, and they cured my problems.
I'm still old and stupid looking....but almost all my rfi troubles are cured.

I had BAD issues on 17m and 75m, with my homemade OCF for 80 through 6m.

I put an Ugly Balun directly under the 4:1 Balun of the OCF and then placed a
Balun Designs 1:1 Max
Choke where the feed line enters the house and my office. The model is a
1115du. Handles 5kw.

Total cost? Less than 100$ and no more RF ingress.

I had the exact same problem with my Flex 5000 setup and had great success
with the T-4-500 line isolator from Radio Works. I'm using it with a
Butternut HF9V vertical. Everyone's RF situation is different so I can't
say for sure if it will fix your problem, but it made a night and day
difference for me.

All,

As you may have seen from previous posts, that I have RF ingress issues on
my Flex 5000a restricting my use of the flex to 40 meters and below. As I
want to start addressing these issues, I would like to know what products
others have used.

I need to eliminate common mode currents at the feedpoint of my 80-10
meter dipole. I have seen Radio Works line isolators, but have been told
that they are not very effective. I have been told to use a W2DU current
UNUN from a company like the wireman.

I am open to suggestions as I do not want this to be an extended
engineering science fair.

As this RF ingress issue has been a complete irritating experience with my
Flex, I would like to hear who has used what and what the results and over
all costs have been.

Thank you,

Robert
