The back of the 6500 looks like the power pole connectors just push in.
There does not seem to be a positive snap-in connection. I have several
power poles and if a strain is put on them, they fall out. The black
plastic clips definitely hold two ends together, but on the back of the
radio, there does not seem to be a way to hold the clips. The clips also
extremely hard to remove and break about half the time when I move a radio
from one vehicle to another. Is there something I am missing with this
power pole execution? Dale KC2PZ

Thanks, Gerald. It's these little things that are good to get settled
in advance. Nothing like getting a new radio and being able to
immediately plugin!
BTW, I noticed that Flex and Kenwood are now at opposite ends of the ham
user interface spectrum. Flex (no knobs/buttons) ---- Kenwood (~134
knobs/buttons on TS-990) <grin>.

Hi David,
The radio comes with a 6 foot #10 AWG power cable with PowerPoles on one
end and lugs on the other end. It also comes with a 6 foot Ethernet cable
and hand microphone.

I already have an Astron power supply with continuous 25 amp
capability but i haven't used Powerpole connectors before. What do
I need for mating the a Flex 6500?
