Just a question to the group regarding the pre-amp replacement for the RFE
board that was covered in ECO-025, for those of us with "old" SDR's.

I came across the minicircuts Gali-74 MMIC that has gain of 25db, noise
figure of 2.7db, IP3 of 38db.

Although it has a different form factor, I was wondering whether this might be a better
pre-amp substitute for the original Sirenza SGA-4586 that was on the original RFE
board. It also appears supperior to the SGA-6286 which replaced the original pre-amp
on later RFE boards.

With the appropriate changes to the bias resistor, I was considering "shoe horning" this
onto the RFE board. Anyone have any opinions or suggestions on this?
