The way I had success was to run directly to the sound card and not through the SDR1000 box. Got rid of a lot of hum and noise. I'm using a D104 with the preamp in the base that is battery powered. It goes directly into the D44 sound card input through the Eric2 interface card. I also have the PTT line from the D104 hooked to the X2-10 input.
The secret to getting the mic audio free of hum, RF or digital noise is to amplify the mic as soon as possible in its own separate shielded box and then approch the transmitter. You also have to try different grounding schemes for the several cables. I put a set of jumper pins on all the ground connections on the Eric2 card and that made is easy to do a quick runthrough of the possible combinations. Got rid of a lot of my early problems. Also put several big ferrites on the antenna coax which made a big difference in getting rid of RF around the rig. The worst RF offender was the amplified computer speakers. Great broadband very sensitive receiver for local RF. Finally ran a cable to the stereo receiver/amp and now listen on the big speakers. It is amazing how good the SRD1000 receiver sounds. 73, Larry K2LT > > From: "Richard Stouffer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: 2006/01/03 Tue PM 08:25:54 WET > To: <[email protected]> > Subject: [Flexradio] PR 20 Mic > > Does anyone know which Heil cable assembly works on the latest version of > the SDR1000 for the Heil PR 20 microphone?
